J&J boosters are recommended for those who are 18 and older who were vaccinated two or more months ago. No additional requirements are needed for this population.

Please Note: There are different requirements and dosing between the Moderna/Pfizer booster and Moderna/Pfizer 3rd dose.

For individuals who received a Moderna or Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, all patients are eligible for a booster shot at 5 months or more after their initial series.  For immunocompromised patients as defined below, this window has been shortened to 3 months.

Third (Additional) Dose:

Currently the CDC recommend that moderately to severely immunocomprimised people receive an additional primary dose. This includes people who have…

  • Been receiving active cancer treatment for tumors or cancers of the blood
  • Received an organ transplant and are taking medicine to suppress the immune system
  • Received a stem cell transplant within the last 2 years or are taking medicine to suppress the immune system
  • Moderate or severe primary immunodeficiency (such as DiGeorge syndrome, Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome)
  • Advanced or untreated HIV infection
  • Active treatment with high-dose corticosteroids or other drugs that may suppress your immune response

Self-attesting to one of the above conditions is required to receive an additional dose and will be included in the questions. If no underlying conditions are present, we will reschedule you for a booster dose instead.

We are receiving vaccine through our federal partnership with CPESN/PPCN and in collaboration with other local pharmacies. We are happy to be part of the network of pharmacies working to improve and maintain the health of our communities.

Please follow the following CDC recommendations before receiving your vaccine to prevent adverse events:

  • Have a beverage or snack before receiving your vaccine
  • Sit or lie down after receiving your vaccine
  • Breathe slowly and deeply before getting the vaccine and think of something relaxing
